Saving Additional Money on Mandatory Spending

So I have been using the Ibotta app since June of 2018 In this short time I have already saved almost $200. Now, I’m not going to say that I’ve saved life changing amounts of money with this app but any additional money saved is a win in my book.

Ibotta is an app that allows people to link their credit/debit card to the app and save even greater amounts of money with “Pay with Ibbotta” an additional 1% through the app. Additionally, Ibotta offers coupons on certain products at certain retailers. They also have convenient “any item” coupons where shoppers can earn small amounts of money regardless of what they purchase at the retailer, for me usually Walmart.

My favorite way to use this app is at Walmart, where I do most of my groceries shopping. So 1) I have to eat like everyone else 2) There is no Aldi’s in my town or cheaper place to get groceries, 3) I get additional discounts on the already cheapest place for me to buy groceries 4) I get an additional discount regardless of my purchase when I use “Pay with Ibotta” 5) Because I have my Ibotta account linked with my credit card I not only save additional money but earn cash back thanks to having it linked with my cashback credit card. That’s a win-win-win for me and hopefully for you too. Once I save $100 I deposit it into my Paypal account where it gets deposited into my savings account. *Bonus points for putting it into your investment account and letting those savings become compounded earnings* I plan on using my savings in the app to purchase shares of Walmart and generate some extra income via “free” dividends.

Let me know what you think. Are there better apps? Am I missing out on additional savings or income? Cheers!
