Once again folks a little bit of good old fashioned sweat equity can do wonders. My fiance (Frugalbyassociation, FBA) is currently on her own in Oklahoma as I have moved to the great state of Nebraska. Being that she is very busy, it’s currently hot as hell, and she is by no means an expert landscaper she got a quote to re-landscape her front yard/jungle. Now like myself, and I’m sure many of you if you are reading this, FBA doesn’t make a lot of money at her job and the $600 quote she received is a lot of money to her/us. So, she basically said to hell with it and decided to do it herself.
So this isn’t technically the start of the project, it was worse. Weeds everywhere and plants placed haphazardly at the front made for less than stellar curb appeal (she is currently trying to sell her house). Enter some good old fashioned hard work….
Just like on This Old Home and every show on HGTV this really only took 5 1/2 minutes by herself 🙂 After tilling up vegetation, adding some additional soil for slope and drainage, and using a vegetation cover (to prevent future unwanted growth) we are ready to reveal the final results…..
So, after spending only 7 1/2 min and close to $100 (vegetation cover and mulch) she radically changed her landscape and improved her home’s curb appeal. I will have to update with the selling price so you get an idea of ROI. I’m proud of the hard work that she did and she received all the plants for free from a good neighbor friend. Nice work FBA!!!
